Pathways Program Roadmap
The Pathways Program Roadmap is an interactive career-development resource created by HWS Career Services to guide students through the major steps of career exploration, preparation, networking, and internship or job searching. It helps students understand what actions to take, when to take them, and which resources to use as they move through the Pathways Program.
The resource is formatted as a PDF interactive with clickable navigation, step-by-step prompts, and “Yes/No” decision points. Each step asks students whether they have completed a specific career-readiness action, then directs them either to the next step or to recommended actions such as scheduling appointments, using Handshake, meeting with a Peer Career Advisor, developing a resume, preparing for interviews, or connecting with alums and employers.
The roadmap’s purpose is to make the career-development process more structured and accessible. It breaks a student’s professional preparation into manageable milestones, supports students in meeting Pathways Internship Funding requirements, and direct them to HWS Career Services tools, staff, and online resources. Overall, the Pathways Program Roadmap serves as both a planning guide and an action-oriented checklist that helps students clarify their direction, build professional materials, activate their network, and prepare to pursue internships, jobs, graduate school, and other post-graduate opportunities.
