HWS Career Closet

Professional clothing, free of charge and ready when you are.

Preparing for an interview, internship, career fair, networking event or first day on the job? The HWS Career Closet offers students access to professional clothing and accessories at no cost.

The Career Closet is a donation-based collection of gently used and new professional attire, created to help students feel confident, prepared and ready to make the most of every opportunity. Whether you need a blazer, dress shirt, slacks, shoes, tie, belt, bag or other career-ready essentials, Career Services can help you find pieces that fit your goals, your style and the moment ahead.

While Career Closet showcases are held frequently throughout the year, students are welcome to visit the Career Closet on a walk-in basis during regular business hours.

For more personalized support, email CareerServices@hws.edu to schedule an appointment and receive advice on finding the right items.

Everything in the Career Closet is free of charge and does not need to be returned. Career Services records what students use only to better understand student needs and guide future donation outreach.

Why Career Closets Matter

Access to professional clothing can make a meaningful difference. For many students, the cost of career attire can create an unnecessary barrier to pursuing internships, interviews, research opportunities, graduate school visits, networking events and employment. Career Closets help remove that barrier.

At HWS, career preparation is about more than building a resume. It’s about connecting students with the resources, confidence and support they need to move from exploration to opportunity. The Career Closet helps students show up prepared, present themselves professionally and focus on what matters most: sharing their skills, experiences and ambitions.

By supporting the Career Closet, the HWS community helps students take the next step toward meaningful futures — one interview, internship and opportunity at a time.

Help students dress for what’s next.

The HWS Career Closet is made possible through the generosity of the HWS community. Alumni donations of clean, gently used or new professional clothing and accessories help ensure that students can access career-ready attire at no cost as they prepare for interviews, internships, career fairs, networking events, graduate school visits and first jobs.

Your donation can help remove a financial barrier, build confidence and support students as they take the next step toward meaningful opportunities.

Alumni are invited to donate professional items by dropping them off at Career Services in Trinity Hall during business hours or by shipping donations to the campus post office (Attn: Career Services, 300 Pulteney St., Geneva, NY 14456).

Returning to campus for Homecoming or Reunion Weekend? Bring your donations with you and help stock the Career Closet for current students!
